Aluminized Heat Protection
Aluminized fabric is constructed with a reflective aluminum surface over a flame-resistant base material such as aramid fabric. The reflective outer layer helps redirect radiant heat and intense arc light and reduce the amount of heat transferred toward the wearer.
The material can withstand short-term exposure to temperatures between 800°C and 1,200°C and provides a protective barrier against hot welding spatter and slag. Its flame-resistant construction will not continue to burn or form molten droplets when exposed to flame. Despite the level of heat protection it provides, aluminized fabric is relatively lightweight and resistant to tearing. It is used for high-temperature welding clothing, aprons, gloves and other protective equipment. It is the perfect choice for heavy welding, high-temperature cutting and other harsh work involving significant radiant heat exposure.
