Denim is a material with dense structure that holds up well against repeated contact with rough metal edges, burrs and other abrasive surfaces, with good resistance to tearing and abrasion. Its tightly woven twill gives the fabric good strength and resistance to wear.

Made from natural cotton fibers, the denim is chemically treated for flame resistance. When exposed to heat, the fabric chars and forms a physical barrier rather than melting into hot droplets that could stick to the skin. Denim also retains good flexibility and gradually becomes softer and more comfortable with repeated wear and washing. It gives workers greater freedom of movement during welding work.
