The back-of-hand heat shield pad is the perfect solution of safety for welders facing the extreme conditions of welding at high amperages that generates intense radiant heat which can penetrate even the thickest leather gloves. Our back-of-hand heat shield pad provides additional protection against radiant heat, welding sparks and spatter when used together with standard welding gloves. Its multi-layer structure uses a reflective aluminized outer layer to redirect radiant heat and reduce heat transfer toward the hand. The inner layer made of split cowhide leather provides further thermal insulation with good heat and abrasion resistance. The heat shield can be worn over standard welding gloves to provide additional radiant heat protection during welding, metallurgy and other high-temperature work.
